We are not a housing authority. We never charge fees. Apply only through official PHA websites.
Search the Section8Finder directory by place name, county, housing authority or property. Every page it returns is built from federal HUD data, with the source and refresh date shown on the page itself.
What this directory contains
- 51 state guides — who administers Section 8 in each state, and what federal records exist there.
- 135 county guides — FY2026 HUD income limits, Fair Market Rents and the administering authority.
- 131 housing authority profiles — official HUD contact details and programs.
- 527 property records — HUD-assisted, public housing and tax-credit properties.
What this directory is not
It is not a vacancy listing. No federal dataset publishes vacancies, waiting-list status, or whether a property is accepting applications today. A property appears here because it has a federal subsidy contract, is public housing, or received low-income housing tax credits. Availability, rent, eligibility and whether vouchers are accepted must be confirmed directly with the property or the administering housing authority.
Applying through a housing authority is always free. If any site asks you to pay to apply for Section 8, do not pay.
